Although I already wrote you a message to your e-mail, I can’t possibly miss this exclusive chance to let you know how extremely proud I am of what you accomplished at Worlds! That was sensational!!! To say that I’m immensely impressed by your talent and guts and the unbelievable strength you demonstrated, would just be too mild of a praise! To my mind you are a true artist weaved of beauty and love. You are exquisite to the tips of your fingers surrounded by magic that somehow renders you irresistibly magnetic to the real art appreciators! Thank you for giving us a glimpse into this side of art and life, for skating your soul on the ice, in spite of how exposing it is! Thank you for doing all of this through misery and pain! This is and will always be appreciated!
I know that one day I’ll be proudly telling my children that I was (am) an Angel of the greatest skater in the world who they keep listening about at school, the brave and outspoken fighter who turned a sport into an art!
But until that day, Johnny, don’t despair! Keep on fighting! And don’t let anyone deprive you of your due pride, since there is nothing to be disappointed with (at least nothing you’ve done). Be beautiful! Be strong! Be confident of your abilities and brilliant artistry and go out there to claim your titles! Whatever happens, know that you are and you’ll always be our CHAMPION!
