Hello Johnny—
Like many others, I was a big fan of figure skating in the past, but had become disenchanted. There were many good skaters, but no one seemed to really express, for me, how magical figure skating could be. A friend told me about you, and I tuned into Nationals
this year. While you performed “The Swan,” I sat there stunned, mesmerized and, yes, enchanted. I don’t know when I’ve been more moved by a performance. Even Dick Button was rendered (almost) speechless at the end, and you know what a tribute that is, haha!
Since then, I looked up your website, read your journals and Q&As and found what an intelligent, witty, articulate person you are. They are such a pleasure to read. And, of course, discovered your
Angels—and a more passionate, appreciative group of fans you could not find anywhere. You give your fans more joy than you can imagine.
This has been a difficult season all the way around for you. But your strength and will to push through injury, pain and distractions—which was especially evident at World’s—to deliver performances of grace, athleticism and beauty was inspiring.
I hope you are having a great time catching up with your life and just having fun for a while. You deserve it. I know next season will bring you everything you have been wishing for and working so
hard toward.
