You took my breath away at the Olympics. Skating had become so boring (skate, skate, jump, skate, skate, jump) that I hadn’t watched in years. You have brought it back to what it should be. That ethereally beautiful face, the glow of your smile, the magic flowing from the top down into the blades where they seem to belong to the ice, the grace and artistry no one else has. You don’t attack the ice like something to be conquered but seem to have an almost mystical connection to it. I watch the videos again and again, mesmerized. It takes such strength and courage to be yourself, to say and mean the quotes I’ve read – “There are going to be people who like you, and people who hate you......and there's nothing I can do. I can't change anyone's mind about me but my own, and I'm happy with who Johnny Weir is. My critics can just eat it”. Your critics have their own hidden agendas.
