Dear Johnny,
In the spirit of your beautiful worlds short program performance, I will try to keep this 'short'. Haha. I just want to say that I don't even remember what happened in the free anymore because since writing my poem to you, all my memories have been redirected to your magnificent short program. Every aspect of it was memorable.
I have never cared about what place you came in; I only want to see your lovely smiling face again. It was there in the short and I missed it so much in the free. I love you because of your skating, of course, but the main reason I love you is because of your own love of skating which shines through your smile.
The person who wins a competition will always be the one who loved his sport the most on the night it mattered. So just keep loving skating and the rest will follow!
Rest assured, there are people who know exactly what happened. It was a mix of injury, and anger at your completely unfair short program marks. Had you placed 3rd or 4th, where you belonged, you would not have been so disgruntled with this sport when you went to skate your free. I could tell you were injured, but I could also tell your heart was not in it. Mine would not have been either. It looks like no matter how well you skate, you can't win. It all depends who on the judging panel feels like being judgmental that day.
The general consensus of the Angels seems to be "Please take a nice long rest now." I'm probably the only one however who wants you to take 5 months off, but I guess I would settle for 3, haha.
Ok, Johnny my love, that's all I wanted to say. Take care of yourself because Johnny, the person, is much more important than Johnny, the skater. Don't be sad because that's what mean people want to see!
And when you think of the Worlds 2006 in years to come, think about your wonderful swan program. That's all anyone else remembers......whether they like it or not!
All my Love forever,
Louisa
