From Midori
Dear Johnny,
I wanted to tell you how much I am moved by your strength and your courage you displayed at the 2006 Worlds. I am incredibly proud of you for your true willpower, and I am thankful to you to show us that we human beings could be so strong and beautiful. I don't know what could be in your mind right now, but I feel that you are tremendously disappointed and down that could not be described in words. But I believe in you, Johnny, that you are the true hero. And you will definitely be the next "One" - and you showed it to the world last night!!
I wish I could describe my feelings in English in precise way that I would in my own language (Japanese), and it is frustrating, but I wish you could at least feel it. When I first saw you in 2004, I thought my heart stopped beating: you and your performance were too beautiful that it hurt. I thought that I saw an angel coming down to earth. Ever since then, you have been my angel. I lost my mother lately, and I didn't want to see anybody, or talk to anybody. I was in my room the whole month of February. It was only you that made me keep on breathing at those saddest moments in my life through your talent and guts. I have heard what you have been through at and after the Olympics, that made my heart sank. But you are a true fighter, and you showed me that we can be ourselves without being afraid of other people's opinions of who you are. And your skating is the most beautiful thing happened in my life. I know you are the finest of the talents at all times in your sport. You and your talent are the most precious gift given from the heaven to us to love and enjoy. I miss your beautiful smiles that come out from your heart, so genuine and so lovely! I am praying for you every day that your injury will heal quickly, and your broken-heart be peaceful again. I know you will make us all proud with your strong come-back next season, AGAIN! I am looking forward to seeing your new programs, with the most exquisite costumes that make me only sigh, and most of all, your happy smiles!!!!! We love you, Johnny, no matter what, no matter where, no matter when.
With All My Love,
Midori
